OUR STORY
From a Ballard Garage to 4,800 Floors Across Greater Seattle
Seattle Flooring Company started in 2005 with a rented floor sander, a pickup truck, and a simple belief: a floor should be finished like a piece of furniture, not rushed like a commodity. Our founder spent his first years refinishing old-growth fir in Ballard and Fremont Craftsmans, floors other companies said weren’t worth saving.
Word spread the way it does in Seattle: over back fences, at school pickups, in neighborhood forums. Twenty years later we’re a full-service flooring company with dedicated installation, refinishing, and tile crews, but we’ve kept the habits of a small shop. The owner still walks every major job. Estimates are still done in person. And we still refuse to sand a historic floor down to nothing just because it’s faster.
